Just Booked My Trip

Created by: aristocat2

I'll be going back on May 9th alone this year for some R&R. Went last year with my two adult children in June. The resort wasn't in full operation last year so I am really looking forward to being able to enjoy the full experience this time!

I'm sure you'll find some amiable dinner partners. I definately pass my thoughts along about Punta Cana. I keep hearing that the Bavaro Beach's sand is like flour. Have fun and I'll look forward to your TR.

I am lucky that the prices out of DFW are reasonable. I'm from Pittsfield, MA. I've been in Texas 10 years now and don't miss the snow and cold at all!

The Kantenah lobby bar is always a nice place to meet people. Looking forward to checking out what's new in Hemingways.

They now have a piano and music in Hemingways along with a chocolate drinks menu. Enjoy.

Welcome back aristocat,

If you travel anywhere alone, the Palladium is the place to do it as you will always meet warm and frniedly staff as well as guests.

I traveled alone to the P RM in February for the Lokes sons' wedding. It was wonderful to be invited to the wedding and to see the lokes but some nights I spent on my own and most days. It was like being home.

As you are a repeat guest you should email Rosalba and request an upgrade "if available" to a jr.suite building. Yes, if it is busy they have the BBQ on wed. & Fri. I will doublecheck on the White Party as things change. It was being held every other Tues.

You are lucky to have so many reasonably priced flights available out of Dallas. It isn't that way out of Boston, unfortunately. Yes, too bad you will miss the paella on Sunday and also the barbecue, although I've been to the resort many times and haven't tried either!! Guess I need to at least try the paella on the beach this year. Regarding the White Party, I'm not sure if it's still being held. I'm sure someone will know and post though. You must be looking forward to getting away and relaxing.

I booked the Colonial (same as last year) but I got a standard room instead of a Jr. Suite since I'm going alone this year. I hope I can get Villa 7 which is the closet standard room villa to the beach/Punta Emilia. I was in Villa 9 last year and I loved the location. I am arriving on a Sunday afternoon, so I will miss the paella and leaving on a Friday, so I will miss the Beach BBQ unless they have it on Wednesday too. Do you know if they still have the White Party?

yes, I am returning solo which I have never done before, but this way I can do what I want, when I want and have the room to myself! The only thing that will bother me is eating alone. I thought about going to an adults only since I was going alone, but it will be nice going back to the Grand Palladium since I will know where to go and what to do and not waste any time (since I'm only going 5 nights this year) finding my way around. Let me know what you think of Punta Cana. The only reason I keep going back to the Cancun area is because of the short flight from Dallas. Have a great trip in June and I'll post a trip report when I get back.
