Did someone mention SHEETS!!!!!!!!! Glad the pillows are being updated and yes I hope that the sheets are next...fitted for the king beds...please......please.....OK, I like sheets that fit and are comfy! Call me crazy but when you are out in the sun and wind and water all day there is nothing like laying on some nice comfy sheets in your room. It is awesome that the resort really listens and continues to make changes, it truly shows they do care about the guests and want to do what it takes to make the resort better and better. It is wonderful also to see that what we ask for is really not that big ...they must be doing some things right...or alot of things right!

Yes, Loke, fitted sheets would be a wonderful addition. I also hope that the pillows in my suite will be nice and new!! Great that they're replacing them. Can't wait to get there! My favorite resort!!

Sounds good Felipe. I sure hope our room is one of them! I realize it must be a huge cost when looking at all those replaced pillows. Fitted sheets will be next right!

Newest wishes requested – Riviera Maya

Doglover & othersCooking classes & cocktail making class by the POP staff

Mickey"Grilled food options at the beach bars. Would love to be able to order fresh grilled fish like at the lunch buffets at the beach bars. Thanks!"

Three Sons”A couple of changes we would love to see would be...1).numbers on the buildings. We did miss our building a few times that first day and having numbers on the buildings would have solved that easily. 2)We would have loved to have a clothes line on the balcony to hang out our bathing suits. 3)The sheets....this was the disappointment frankly...this is rated a 5 star and the sheets were not...fitted sheets for king beds are a must and it would be great to see this improved. 4) One comment on the al la cartes would be that posting menus outside the restaurants would be lovely.”

Cubsnpalladiumfan Ability for repeat guests to confirm connecting rooms when reserving more than one room

Steelersgirl”1)mats in front of the ice machines in the Riviera villas;very slippery when wet, 2)some kind of list of beverages for the fridge so you can check off what you want; 3) a schedule of what lobbies and what times the music will be playing to be given out at check in.(shows were well labeled on the activities board but not so much the music). 4) I agree with others that a fruit basket isn't necessary, for repeaters; maybe a box of chocolate!!!!! :0 “

Margaritalady”I think a dessert cafe would be a great addition to the resort. So often you don't want dessert right after dinner, but would LOVE it later! This could be as simple as installing a case in Hemingway's (they have one in Miss Lou's). Dessert with a coffee drink would be a great way to end the evening!”(This is being implemented in various Hemingways)

Guy from UK More vegetarian food

Blueskies &othersRoom service for all, even if there is a small fee.

Geochick: Earlier evening shows for little kids

Loke, Aristocat2, Dory, Paula UK, Aramos714, RUCruizin & others: More comfortable pillow without a charge

Alina:Improved TV reception in rooms

Most recent wishes granted!

Cocktail receptions for repeat guests to meet management.

Welcome “surprise” kits for the kids in the kids’mini club

Chocolate drinks menu in all Hemingways and Miss Lou’s bars

From Felipe

Some news about our resorts; we are now offering hard ice cream in El Gran Azul, La Laguna. Soft ice cream in Beach Snack Bars (Punta Emilia and Beach Bar). The same service is being offered in different bars in all our resorts.

Looking for entertainment? Look in any of the Palladium resorts for this Logo

New church in Riviera Maya “The bishop of the Prelate Quintana Roo, Bishop Pedro Pablo Elizondo Cárdenas, blessed the new Chapel called “Nuestra Señora de las Nieves” at the Grand Palladium at the Mayan Riviera, wishing all the best for events, not only for guests of the Hotel, but also for the general community

Stacy (Mimail) pointed out that they now have curtains on the balconies of the Royal.

Mimail”I noticed that the clothes line in the shower request was on this list. I wanted to let everyone know that on my trip, day 2 one WAS installed. YEAH !! It was used every single day.

Anne & others Upright chairs

Re cycle bins *granted*

Wi Fi in all lobbies *granted*

Patrick & Saskia Belgium Dress code at El Jardin. *Granted* hard ice cream *granted*

(Mickey had this request(More beach parties!)

Improved amenities( this applies to 2010 as well)

https://home.comcast.net/~unofficialpalladium/Amenities%202009.pdf

In response to many requests for a repeat guest program, This is being implemented in the form of upgrades when available, amenities in room such as fruit basket, champagne, ability to reserve ala cartes and although it is not yet standardized, (they need a central way to track this) they do offer some extra amenities to repeat guest when possible on an individual basis. Ask Anne for a contact if you need it.

New webcams, now in Royal pool area, El Rinconcito, El Gran Azul and other resorts.

Balinese beds have been added to the Royal pool area and the salt water pool.

Improved loungers at the salt water pool area.*granted*

Ipod and MP3 docking stations have been installed throughout all rooms in México, Jamaica and Dominican Republic. These also include an alarm clock which many people have requested.

Golf packages are now being offered at three local golf courses.

http://home.comcast.net/~unofficialpalladium/GOLF%202009.pdf

New Black & White Teen Club opened.

Mayawanabee One thing I really wanted was a privacy screen or shade for the balcony in Royal Suites. *Granted – drapes!*WI-FI would be nice too! – *Granted*

Previous requests – Riviera Maya in order of most recent first

RSSF”I found myself comparing Palladium to Barcelo as we had stayed there the previous three summers. I was somewhat spoiled by the Palace, particularly with respect to the rooms, the premium liquors and the fact that the Palace property is open to families. With Palladium, it felt strange to be unable to upgrade to the Royal section as this is Adult only. In our opinion, they should havea premium section wherein families could upgrade.”

LilyUKOpportunity for repeat guests to stay in Kantenah Mayan suites and purchase Royal services.

Georgiedgirl UK

One morning, walking along the service road, we decided to have a look at one of the (unofficial) trails leading into the rainforest. We walked for about 10 or so minutes along a very rough trail and found a small stone building, very reminiscent in style of Tulum and Chichen Itza. It definitely wasn’t a mock up, but if it was real Mayan why hasn’t the hotel made more of it and put in a decent footpath? Maybe they would have if it had been bigger or had some elaborate carvings on it, but it was interesting just the same. There are also at least three small cenote dotted around the grounds.

Aristocat2I do prefer the beach at the Grand Palladium over the beach where I have stayed the past couple of years. I missed the little amenities (turn down service with fresh towels for the am and chocolates and water next to the bed, popcorn/nuts with your cocktails at the bars, poolside drink service).

Sports Fans:

AlinaImproved TV reception in rooms

Some Canadians at P in Riviera Maya Canadian hockey in the sports bar

Some UK visitors British sports on TV in the sports bar

Anne & girls Benches where the trains stop off the lobbies. Signage similar to that in the ala cartes. (Current signs are before the lobbies.)

Jayne RI some things I would love to see added: self serve coffee at the beach early in the morning(they had it our first year and it was great), it takes too long to have the bar tender make individual cups, self service drinks for buffets , more trains for evening service, (they are supplementing with golf carts) bailey irish cream and kahlua for mudslides at all bars, lunch buffet back at punta Emilia

Markmdavis and othersRoom service available for a charge to all guests

DoriePillow top beds (or at least foam egg crate toppers), good spicy Mexican food, great seafood

Patrick & Saskia

3; Guests from El Dorado/Hidden Beach-resort should not be allowed on the Palladium-beach area, there is no security-post to stop those people while we could not go walking on their beach (which is normal) (Being addressed)

Doglovers who stayed in Royal

A way to shut your sliding door (in order to keep A/C running) and still be able to get back in. It is practically impossible and you have to hope someone is in the room.

Loke Canada

I agree that it would be nice if there were reuseable beverage containers with lids for either drinks or coffee to reduce the amount of garbage we create with every beverage. I would take some type of wipe with me to clean the cup at the end of the day & a little rinse under the tap. I also agree that fruit baskets in the rooms is not necessary with the buffets being so handy & I hate to see insects being attracted to our rooms. The unlimited a la carte service is a huge bonus. Thank you very much.

general: Refurbish the mini golf area

Kristin Suggestions for improvement:

Drink service at the beach and pool – I know they have it at the Royal area but it’s a nice touch for all.

Better descriptions of the contents of food in the buffets

Overall, we were very impressed with the service. However, one thing I noticed was that not all staff members had a good feel for the locations of everything around the resort. That was a little different for us because at most resorts, I’ve found that you could pretty much ask anyone and they would be able to answer your questions. I was thinking it’s possible that the reason behind this was because they maybe had more temp staff on to cover the large number of guests during these two high occupancy weeks.

Would I go back and would I recommend this resort to friends: Absolutely

MexicocallingMore vegetarian dishes available

Scott Corn tortillas available at breakfast and lunch buffets

Beachgal Chocolate fondues in buffets. (They do have one in El Jardin)

MMickey whipped cream for the dessert crepes in the buffet. (If it was there I did not see it)

TerryScreens on door or window (Mayan suites). Curtain on shower for more privacy.

Hannahsmith UK A liquer called Midori (or similar)? Its a bright green melon liquer.

Aendi79 German language DVDs in the Royal area

MickeyThis is probably impossible, but if Fat Tire beer were available anywhere on the resort I would have loved it. (Fat Tire is a product of New Belgium brewing company out of Colorado.) All beers in Mexico, including Coors and Bud and the Mexican beers, are not hoppy enough for me. So basically, now that I'm thinking about it, any microbrew, especially a India Pale Ale of any brand, would be great. (Beer snobs will love you for it!)

Mickey Initially welcome / engage new kids to the kids club. Overall good experience but shy children might have a hard time acclimating.

BoatchickJust a thought, but I'd like to see the guests staying in the Mayan suites in the Kantenah and Colonial suites have the same privileges as the Royal guests.

MishaboyGP Riviera Maya - Better salad bars in the a la carte restaurants. I did not find most selections appetizing to the "American" palette. We were a party of 4 and we did not find much to our liking. Ice cream – Granted

Many requests for room service for all (even if there is a small fee)

Anne A retractable drying line in the bathroom for wet bathing suits- granted

MindyH8 Would like to have fitted sheets for the king beds, list to check off for items for minifridge so we don't have items we won't use, and shuttle to Akumal and Playa (even if it was a small fee to pay for the gas and driver).

Kern & Heidi Relax the long pants for men rule in ala cartes and allow nice shorts.

True Blue

There are a lot of vegetarians these days and it would be much better if each a la carte included a couple of veggie options on the normal menu. (They have the same menu in all the ala cartes.) For me the food was better in the buffets.

Brendarella Corona beer

Heidi Garbage cans: More garbage cans with cigarette sand ashtray on the top by the train stops and other various places. Too many people toss their cigarette butts only for staff to pick up. Maybe they wouldn’t if there were more cans available. One can only hope because it’s such a beautiful place. Larger garbage cans by the pool. Again maybe if the can is not full, the guests would use them rather than leave their trash by the pool.

Rachel5577 Room service available for all

Linnysue Our wish list for the GP would be to have wireless, service on the beach, hard ice cream, especially coconut (Our waiter at the Portofino did manage to get me a scoop each of vanilla & strawberry for my Tiramisu desert which was excellent by the way.), room service, and two more trains for faster shuttle service. Am I a total princess, or what!

General request, all resorts smoke free theaters, especially relative to cigars

Margaritalady Riveria Maya--Beach bbq for RETURN GUESTS ONLY--this would be a great opportunity for management to mingle with return guests. Another resort we were repeat guests had a weekly cocktail party for return guests--they also took photos and gave them to the return guests as a souvenir--very nice touch. (They are having Managers’ cocktail parties)

I also agree that the fruit basket is somewhat of a waste (though appreciated)--in addition to which attracts those tiny ants into your room. A Palladium Logo item would be much more appreciated. Other resorts have given repeat guests polo shirts, t-shirts, baseball caps etc. One idea I have is how about a Palladium Mug? It would conserve on plastic cups as well as serve as a token thank-you.

Mindy Fitted sheets for bottom sheets, better AC in gym and spa, especially early in am (both of these were also mentioned below)

Henwoods Clock in rooms (Digital clocks have been added)

Anne CC Either Gordons or Beefeaters gin in the ala cartes. We did find it in Hemingways, Colonial bar and El Jardin. recycled books available during the day somewhere.

BMor007 Orientation for new guests

More Mexican food

Cook things to order at “service bars”. (Note I did get food cooked via order at the Colonial beach bar (A )

JayneRI Churros for breakfast.

Doglover

I'd like to see the fridges working all day long so that when you return to your room after a long day at the beach and are trying to get ready to go for dinner, you have a cold drink. The Royal rooms do not have the option to leave your card in the slot so that the room/fridge stays cold. Chips in the mini fridge would be nice Less of the steps and bridges to go over The walkway down into the Royal lobby needs to be stairs rather than the very steep walkway it is right now. Going down is dangerous if you aren't paying attention. Gracias!

Mutiger A good anejo tequila at the lobby bars and at the Royal Bar.

MindyH8 Smoke free theater

Viv Sylvester Larger coffee pots in Royal rooms, better AC in the gym, A retractable laundry line - granted (in the shower - not on the balcony) Chips in the mini bar - the nuts and pretzels taste kinda nasty (Royal) WIFI-Royal side for sure : ) - granted

LindaIL We have a handicapped child and our wish would be that they get a few beach wheelchairs for handicapped guests or guests who might have a hard time walking in the sand. We used one at Discovery Cove, Orlando. It is very helpful.

Henwoods Allow repeat guests ability to reserve ala cartes*Granted*

MutigerCaptain Morgon or some other spiced rum at the bars. Bacardi limon, so great for a cervasa with a kick

MexicomatI second the idea of chocolate covered strawberries for returning guests!

Animalover I would like to see earlier (morning) yoga / pilate classes”.

Mexicolover”It’s so nice to see the resort listen to requests and to try their best to deliver. No wonder it’s a hit and we keep returning.

Actually, what would be great is if both Royal Guests and Returning Guests(no matter which section;ie White Sands, Colonial, etc) be allowed to make advanced reservations at the ala cartes. *Granted*

Also another suggestion(preference) is we have noticed that Palladium Management seems to show their appreciation for repeat guests with a nice fruit basket in the room; though this very appreciated and unnecessary, we have found that we aren't eating it fast enough(and you can get unlimited fruit at the buffet) and end up giving it to housekeeping for them to enjoy. Now if it was chocolate covered strawberries(which aren't at the buffet) there would be no waste. Mmmmmm. Yummy.

Suggestion for the future-allow Royal privileges options for White Sands(paying an upgrade charge if necessary)Love the location of the White Sands villas but some of the perks for Royals would be nice(even if you could pay extra when checking in within reason of course,

Zeno More Mexican food (spicy)

Bottom fitted sheets for beds (seconded by Mindy)

More railings on stairs

More face cloths

Husker More authentic Mexican food

Rum Advisor (For Punta Cana) Please install one or two ATMs

Anne & Rios smaller portion options in ala cartes, up right chairs *granted*

Lawrence Kids club: Things aimed at older kids (like 9-12) would be a big plus. *Granted*

LucyMilly23 room service could be available? (all rooms) that is my wish!

Linda IL Frappucino type coffee drinks (flavored iced coffees)

Henwoods Seagrams Gold

MindyH8 Taller chairs on the balconies at the White Sand. We had a beautiful view of the ocean, but sitting in the chairs we couldn't see over the railing.

Fburky: Riesling white wine , Bacardi Gold, More Mexican food.

Kern 1 & LilyUK in response to ala carte experiment in Punta Cana I hope that the Palladium will offer additional a la cartes to those in Mayan Suites real soon. It would be a nice perk! *Granted*

Lisa L Negra Modelo beer

Lawrence The bridges on the White Sand side are nice to look at but not very practical. It would be nice if they cold be reduced or removed.

LisainSK Either Crown Royal Canadian Whisky or Wiser's Canadian Whisky;

Debbie Shower on Kantenah beach near the bar **Granted**

MariaItaly carafe or half litre of wine on table at dinner

LuvtheSun Recylced books accessible during the day. (Hemingways opens at 6pm.)

John Half n half for coffee if available, WiFi *Granted* & more computers in Kantenah internet room (on the way)

JulieC 2 room family suite for family of five, Organized activities for kids 7 - 12 *Granted*

Maybride coconut ice cream *Granted*

Loke 3 ala cartes per week stay (for multiple weeks)*granted*

PattiM extra ala cartes for multiple weeks,*granted* new chairs in internet room

Anne seafood pasta dish in Portofino (now have lobster)

Val&Vince lobster in ala carte *granted*

Daument WiFi, *granted* pecorino romano cheese for pasta Limoncello Martinis Caravella Grey Goose lattes

Kern More ala cartes for Mayan suites * granted* More Mexican food

My husband wishes for more Mariachi bands, or some sort of information posting when and where the band will be. Thanks! He loves the mariachis!

LilyUK What a lovely idea! I haven't been yet but more ala cartes for the Kantenah Mayan suites would aid my decision!(granted)

Canario sí, más a la cartes (granted)

Ralph More Mexican food

Pickles real potato chips

Catsfam Flaming coffees @ buffets

Morrispa someplace to dry wet clothes -*granted*- More Mexican food

Lesa Levin My wishes are: The boats at the Riviera were beautiful to look at but it seemed they did not move very often! I would get rid of the boats and add a couple of (lower) bridges to walk across.

I also wish that people in the reservation line for the BBQ only were allowed to make reservations for themselves. I woke very early to get in line, I was 5th and my family of 5 could not get a reservation. People in front of me were making 30 reservations or more for their groups.

I would also like more mexican music to be played. Mexico is the first country that we have traveled to that plays American music. I would like to experience the culture of Mexico when I am there and the music should be part of that.

My last wish is probably my biggest wish- The bottled water. I wish it was more accessible. (Note from Anne – leave a note in the fridge for mas agua with a small tip. The fridge is now filled daily.) These are small wishes, I appreciated the GP asking how nice!

Fiona My wish? That the Kantenah train would run thru the day and not just at night. (They now use golf carts)

My second wish: that on Japanese (Asian?) night in the buffet they would change the music to something else. It was soooo mellow and weird, it was putting me to sleep.. Even just some nice quiet classical music would have been tons better.

My third wish: that they would do a better job at letting people know what nightly entertainment there is. (This is posted now in several places. Look on bulletin boards.)

Wow, surprising myself here. Didn't realize that I had so many wishes. I do have to say, again, that mgmt. went above and beyond helping me with my mattress issue. This caring is what will keep us going back, God willing.

New in Jamaica

Food is now being served at Las Brisas!

Congratulations! The Grand Palladium Resort at Jamaica celebrates its 1st anniversary. It opened last year in July and has accommodated since then many satisfied guests. If you were one of the first who stayed there (in July 2008) you can celebrate with us! On your next stay at a Palladium Resort you will receive a free upgrade/VIP bracelets/Late Check-Out*! Contact marketing@fiestahotelgroup.com to learn more

Wishes – Jamaica

MickeyWe loved the no towel card system in Jamaica

Anne & AbbyLabel food in buffets. Food (snacks)at Las Brisas *Granted* & self serve drinks for kids.Coffee early in the morning somewhere (Las Brisas?)

Don’t Worry Be Happy Webcam on Palladium Jamaica beach!

Tanishas More Jamaican food

Ebma85 Signs that identify the food in the buffets

GP Jamaica previous wishes - Have not been there yet, but I'm from Jamaica and I hope that there will be some of our cultural foods served at breakfast in the buffet, i.e. ackee and saltfish, callaloo, breadfruit, hard dough bread, fresh cocunut water (possibly available during the day), fried dumplings, green banana etc. Breakfast is a wonderful meal for us. Jamaica is also very well known for "Jerk" chicken, fish and pork. To have an original pit to jerk chicken, not the "fake" jerk would draw a lot of people. I live in NY and that is a big thing to find a place that makes authentic Jerk chicken, pork and fish. Jamaica is also well known for great story telling, maybe a show which would include that. Maybe some of the ice cream flavors from Jamaica.

New in Punta Cana

The Royal Gourment in the Royal Suites is now offering a “chocolate fountain”. All restaurants are offering sugar free deserts as well.

At the Grand Palladium Resorts in Punta Cana you can enjoy every Thursday a wine tasting in the Hemingway Cocktail Bar. Supervised by an expert that gives explanations of how to assess and differentiate various types of wine, source, crop and property and the type of food that best accompany them. Costs per person $10 – reservations required

232 addition rooms opened at the Royal suites Turquesa.

The Royal Gourmet expands! At breakfast you can now have a new selection of juices and cereals and at lunch there will soon be a new a la carte menu, at dinner you can have “cocktail appetizer” with a new and expanded selection of salads, cheese and smoked ham and kippers. In addition there are always two recommended plates of the chief and a daily vegetarian selection

At The Royal Suites Turquesa at Punta Cana there is also a new offer of snacks: mini pizzas from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the pool, a new variety of sandwiches (turkey pastrami and beef) and fruit skewer (type aperitif) from 11.30p.m. to 12p.m.

As a VIP guest at the Grand Palladium Resort in Punta Cana you will now sleep tighter and with sweeter dreams: As a VIP guest you can choose from a special pillow menu for example hyper-allergic, with memory foam, feathers or orthopedic pillows.

At The Royal Suites Punta de Mita Show Cooking takes place every day for every meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner). They are preparing every day another speciality in front of you with a selection of dishes which are especially appealing and lucid in their way of preparation and presentation.

Newest wishes – Punta Cana

Margaritalady

Even though there is a pillow menu at an additional cost, I really feel that the Palladium should upgrade their standard pillows—definitely poor quality. *Granted*There was also a very small balcony with two plastic chairs and a pleasant view of a small lake. Having just returned from G.P. Jamaica in April, I’d have to say there’s no comparison here—the room was fine—in Jamaica the suite (and view) were spectacular!

Drinks: This is where I feel that G.P. Mexico exceeds G.P. Punta Cana. Unless and until you make friends with a good bartender, the drinks at the beach and pool bars are just o.k. There were no mojitos or capirinhas at these bars and the frozen drinks out of the machines aren’t even slushy most of the time. We managed to get by, however, with our standard rum & cokes until we would go to see William at the Punta Cana pool—HE could make good drinks!

A major disappointment was that the big screen in the Sports Bar wasn’t working. For Game 6, the game was shown on only one TV (even though no other major sporting event was taking place). Later in the game another TV was turned on to the game. The room was full of people trying to watch the game. When we got there for Game 7, the game was again only on one TV – WITH THE SOUND OFF! Sammy, the guy in charge of the Sports Bar, said he could not put the game on more TV’s or turn the sound up without the ok from management. Poor Sammy was just trying to do his job and some people were blaming him for the problem. I went over to the Bavaro Lobby and spoke with my contact person (Daphne) that I met at the manager’s reception for repeat guests the night before. Daphne immediately got on her walkie-talkie and the game was on all the TV’s with the sound up!

Margaritlady (for Punta Cana) Blenders at the beach & pool bars

For Punta Cana Additional loungers (in the works), additional palapas, add ATM(s)
